My Story
I started my business at 22 years old with a $250 wedding gig and a dream.
What started as a one-man hustle out of my bedroom slowly grew into a full-service photography and video studio. Over the past 22 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients ranging from families and small businesses to major companies like Amazon, Chevron, Frito-Lay, and Dignity Health.
Along the way, I learned that building a successful creative business takes a lot more than knowing your camera. It takes consistency, communication, adaptability, and a willingness to figure things out when things don't go according to plan.
I've made plenty of mistakes along the way, but those experiences taught me some of my most valuable lessons.
Now, through Shutter School, I get to share those lessons with the next generation of photographers and filmmakers, helping them build their craft, their confidence, and a business that can actually last.
I Understand the Struggle
Getting started in an oversaturated market isn’t easy.
Finding clients, figuring out what to charge, building a brand, managing the business, and trying to grow can feel overwhelming. I’ve been through it.
When I started in 2004, I had to figure it out through years of trial, error, and persistence.
My goal is to help you shorten that learning curve and spend less time guessing about what works.
